Because polls still show that right now America still prefers that Dem Congress over a Rep one.

Approval and favorable are different, with that low approval rating..speaks volumes to how bad the GOP is right now - the gains in seats this year show that. 60 is still a possibility right now btw

I shudder the thought. That would be a bad thing.

There needs to be some checks and balances, so I hope the filabuster is still available. Its never a good thing for autonomy to take place.

That was approval rating for a Democrat majority Congress. If the Judicial and Legislative branches are supposed to be as important as the Executive branch, then at whom should we be pointing fingers for the shape the country is in?

And I said that the polls still favor a Dem congress over a Rep one, thats how bad it is for them. All have equally important rolls, but in different areas so you cant equal blame on all.

Re: Hmmm, and this from the opposition?

Congress can be held as much to blame for the mess we're in as the Prez., if not moreso. You're so blinded by the "I HATE BUSH" propaganda that you'll never see it. As usual, even something speaking favorably of him from the Democrat side of the spectrum doesn't convince you. As Mr. Shapiro has pointed out, future history will probably be kinder to him than the present has been when all the factors are taken into consideration. If either Gore or Kerry had been elected and faced with the problems GWB has been, Obama would have not been in the picture this year, as people would have been clamouring for a Rep. president.

Re: Hmmm, and this from the opposition?

For the last few years I have always said that Bush has done a good job with what he had to work with. I don't think there could have been many Presidents that could have done any better.
